For the 4th installation of Sahaja S O U N D S, Miles Cooper Seaton will collaborate with an ensemble comprised of local musicians to reimagine selections from his latest release, Phases In Exile, alongside spontaneous explorations into meditative and visceral spaces.
Miles Cooper Seaton is a nomadic artist, composer, poet and performer. He is a founding member of the avant rock collective Akron/Family and in 2017 released Phases in Exile, his first record of songs under his own name. (Seaton’s) performances are site specific communal endeavors which are more often than not rendered by spontaneous local ensembles and their content runs the gamut from contemplative folk balladry to ecstatic psychedelic improvisation to durational percussion episodes. Their common thread is the emphasis on heart centered communication and gratitude for the opportunity to pass time, together.
